Newman Tuition Partners with CATALYST by Winchester College to Nurture Tomorrow’s Thinkers

At Newman Tuition, we believe education should prepare students not just to pass exams — but to thrive in the real world. That’s why we’re proud to announce our partnership with CATALYST by Winchester College, a forward-thinking educational programme designed to nurture critical thinkers, confident communicators, and capable problem-solvers.
Built on 600 Years of Academic Excellence
CATALYST is part of Winchester College, one of the UK’s most prestigious schools, with a 600-year tradition of educational excellence. Through dynamic online courses, CATALYST brings Winchester’s renowned enrichment ethos to students worldwide — developing the core skills that matter most in today’s fast-changing world.
What Is CATALYST?
CATALYST is more than just academic learning. It’s about mindset development — helping students aged 10–17 move beyond memorisation and start thinking independently, communicating persuasively, and solving real-world challenges.
Each course is centred around a Capstone Project — a meaningful, hands-on challenge that encourages students to apply their learning, reflect on their growth, and build confidence through presentation and collaboration.
What Courses Are Available?
CATALYST offers several engaging, age-appropriate programmes:
Foundations (Ages 10–13) and Horizons (Ages 14–17)
One-week intensive courses during half-terms and summer holidays. Students explore advanced topics like AI, climate policy, and ethics, and complete a Capstone Project.
After-School Programme (Ages 10–13)
A 10-week term-time course offering deeper exploration of a real-world issue, with extended time to develop and refine a Capstone Project.
Interview Masterclasses (Ages 10–13 & 14–16)
Half-day workshops focused on developing confidence and fluency for school or sixth-form interviews.
“The focus on collaboration and compromise has made him more confident in socialising with new people. He’s been actively suggesting and inspiring others with new ideas in conversations, which is great to see.”
— Michael, parent of a CATALYST student

Give Your Child the Advantage That Lasts a Lifetime
Straight A’s are fantastic. But in an age where AI can memorise content, students who can think, solve, and communicate will stand out — in education, interviews, and life.
We’re delighted to recommend CATALYST courses to our Newman Tuition families. Whether your child is curious about the world, aiming for a top school, or ready to be stretched beyond the standard curriculum, CATALYST will give them the edge.
