English Language GCSE
Read this…Write about that.. English Language could get a reputation for lacking variety…but wait, there’s much, much, more to this course of study; there’s plenty of scope for learning about things you didn’t even know you didn’t know thanks to great writers, there’s room for discussion and debate, for developing ideas with clarity and authority – what’s not to like about that?
Our tutors encourage critical thinking and creativity to ensure that students can relate to texts and discuss their ideas with enthusiasm. They have to write those ideas down of course, but that’s fine, we know what makes for excellent writing too, from essays to stories, and we’re here to share.

English Literature
So many books, so little time…Key Stage 4 can be very demanding, and the weight of content in Literature can seem overwhelming, but fret not; Macbeth need not be a source of stress. From Sherlock Holmes to Inspector Goole, Charles Dickens to Carol-Ann Duffy, our tutors tackle texts in a creative way which inspires students rather than terrifies them. And, ok, we might not truly convince you that essay writing is great fun, but in giving guidance on planning, structuring and executing good writing we can certainly take the pain out of it.
