Tutors are carefully vetted, Enhanced DBS checked, reference checked and required to follow our safeguarding policy and professional code of conduct. Families are clearly informed how lessons will run, and any concerns are handled promptly by our safeguarding team.
Yes. Parents are able to discuss their child’s needs with Newman Tuition before lessons begin. Teachers To Your Home also recommends a short introductory conversation as standard good practice, which supports including this very early in the Newman journey.
Both. We offer online tuition and home tuition, depending on the family’s needs, location and the kind of support that will work best.
Yes, online lessons are as effective when they are structured, engaging and tailored to the student. The right format often depends on your child’s age, learning style, confidence and schedule.
Most lessons are 60 minutes long, but they can be lengthened or shortened on request. After each lesson, parents receive a written report outlining what was covered, how the student engaged and any recommended next steps.
We generally suggest 1–3 lessons per week, but the right frequency depends on age, goals, workload and how quickly support is needed.
Most students simply need a laptop or tablet with a stable internet connection. A pen tablet and stylus are also recommended.
We cover a wide range of subjects including maths, English, science, school entrance preparation, and many other subjects, with additional advisory support for university admissions, SEND and education consultancy.
